Asbestos - St. Bridget Catholic School

Asbestos - St. Bridget Catholic School
12/24/2008

CEM was contracted by the Catholic Archdiocese of Indianapolis to characterize the presence of asbestos containing materials (ACM) in advance of demolition of this vacant school.  CEM identified a moderate quantity of friable pipe insulation in the structure that required abatement in advance of demolition.  CEM also identified non-friable ACM in the structure in the form of floor coverings and similar materials.

However, because of CEM’s assessment of these non-friable materials, abatement in advance of demolition was eliminated in accordance with federal and state asbestos regulations.  The owner saved thousands of dollars in abatement and disposal costs because of this effort.
